A seat adjustment lever for a 2005 Ford Explorer

3D printed seat back adjustment lever for a 2005 Ford Explorer

The seat back adjustment lever broke on my 2005 Ford Explorer. Instead of ordering a replacement, I found a design on Thingiverse

The problem

The lever to adjust the back of the driver’s side seat on my 2005 Ford Explorer broke. I rarely adjust the seat but I did want it to work if necessary. I found I could purchase a replacement for about 20 dollars or so.

Print it

After a little bit of digging, I found that someone had created a design for exactly what I needed on Thingiverse. I printed it using pla filament.

Results

It works perfectly. It does seem slightly less substantial than the original. The solution was simple. I printed another lever and threw that in the glove box.

This was for the driver’s side front seat. I suppose it could be reversed for the passenger side.
