Buckle to extend the flap strap on a Harbor Freight Storage Tent

The straps that come with a Harbor Freight storage tent to roll up the front ‘door’ were just a little too short. I printed a strap buckle to allow me to add another 1 foot of 1 1/2″ velcro strap

The door would not stay rolled up

The shortness of the factory straps on my Harbor Freight Storage Tent made rolling up the front flap frustrating. I tried gluing on additional strapping and clipping something on. Nothing worked

Buckle it

The solution that finally worked was to design and print a buckle using my Creality 3D printer and PLA filament.

Printed Buckle

One side is one inch wide. The other is 1.5 inches wide. I opted to use a wider strap based on a number of reasons…. all of them being that is what I had handy.

Results

I did this 5 months ago. I use the tent about once a week or so. So far, this has help up well. I no longer get frustrated by a falling flap when entering the tent.
