Simple hack to make removing your Dremel bits easy

wrong - Dremel bit is fully-inserted

Here is a simple hack that will you to easily remove your Dremel bits after using them

The Problem

You may find that it is extremely difficult to remove a Dremel bit when you are finished using it. After loosening the collet, the bit seems stuck

The Cause

Stuck bits are usually the result of inserting the bit all the way into the collet as shown below.

The fix

The bit is difficult to remove because you can’t push it in any further. If you leave some space, even a quarter inch, then removing the bit becomes easy. All you need to do is loosen the collet and then push the bit in slightly. That will release it and it should fall right out.

Summary

Once I started leaving some of the shaft showing, stuck bits were a thing of the past
