Quick fix for a garage door that won’t close

A possible quick fix if your garage door fails to close

If you have a garage door that won’t close  at all or fails to close periodically, try this quick fix.

I run into this periodically. The door will refuse to close either all the time or occasionally.

I found that if a leaf gets caught in a spiderweb and hangs down a bit from the door, it can break the safety beam and cause the door to go back up. The solution is amazingly simple: brush the leaves and cobwebs off. The problem is solved until the next time a spider leaves a web that captures a leaf.
